Sandbrook Farm, the Vandesande's of Antigonish, NS purchased 5 heifers and a bull from us last spring. I received an email from them last night with pictures of the first calf born. An 82 lb heifer calf. Congratulations and the cattle look great!

With record prices in the beef industry, it's nice going to the mailbox these days. Beef was $2.21/lb this week and we received $2200 for two cull cows! It was not long ago we were getting half of these prices.

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and are hoping for a prosperous 2014.
2013 ended with some terrible weather conditions here. We averaged a storm every 2.5 days and have more snow than we had all last winter, in fact this was the first white Christmas in 10 years. There is a lot of snow on the rooves, some buildings have been lost. We are now in a cold snap with -34 wind chill tonight so we just can't seem to get a break.
